Prayer and Small Groups
We believe in the power and importance of prayer and meet regularly to pray together. We meet for 30 minutes on the following days every week:
You are very welcome to any of these meetings or to pray in church at any time. St Matthew's church is open every day from approx 8am until 5pm. There is a "Prayer Corner" at the front of the south aisle for you to sit or
kneel quietly and with paper and pens to write any prayers or prayer requests and place them on the board for inclusion at our regular prayer times.
If you would like someone to pray with you, then after every 10.30am service there will be members of our Prayer Ministry Team in the choir stalls sitting quietly for you to join them. Please feel free to come forward whenever you feel in need of this ministry. This is also available at Village Praise in the Memorial Hall on the first Sunday of the month. We always set aside time in our Home Groups for regular prayer and support. Once a month there is "Soaking Prayer" (usually on the fourth Thursday evening except during August) when you can come and sit or lay down and soak up gentle prayer for you and to be aware of and to bathe in God's love. HOMEGROUPS:
There is also a daytime Bible Study Group which meets on Monday mornings in someone's home. For more information or to join a group, please speak to the Vicar or a member of the Ministry Leadership Team or contact the Church Office. The Ladies Fellowship meets on the first Thursday of each month from 2.30pm usually in the Church Room. Please see the notice in the church porch for details of their programme. |

We have a number of small groups (Homegroups) meeting fortnightly in homes around the parishes on different days of the week, where folk can build trust and friendships, pray and support each other and study the Bible together.
